Learn to Make Cabbage Swallow

Learn to Make Cabbage Swallow
I know you probably think this is a joke and wondering how in the world a swallow meal can be made out of cabbage. All I have to say is watch and learn. Thanks to restless dieticians and chefs who keep looking for healthier alternatives to our favourite meals, this is now a reality. I must however quickly say that the originator of this recipe is not known but it sure tastes amazing.

Ingredients (for one serving)
Cabbage – 1/2
Psyllium Husk – 2 tablespoons
Water – 4 glasses

Procedure

  • Wash your cabbage
  • Cut it into smaller bits
  • Boil with little water for about 5 minutes
  • Strain water and blend cabbage till it forms a fine puree.
  • Pour puree into a pot and heat up on low flame
  • While heating up, add psyllium husk to bind the puree together
  • Stir and mold (like you would other swallow meals)
  • Serve with soup of your choice

Psyllium husk is an ingredient that helps bind food together and stops it from falling apart. Its original use is to help in cleansing the system.

This vegetable swallow can also be achieved with other vegetables like garden eggs, purple cabbage, cauliflower, egg plant, etc.. . The fun part is that the meal takes the colour of the vegetable you use. So if you use purple cabbage, you’ll have a plate of purple swallow.
